Nolensville, Tennessee is a semi-small town nestled in Williamson County. It has around three neighborhoods and is the 107th largest community in the state. It is a warm and family-friendly community with quiet streets, low crime rates and plenty of room to run, learn and grow. It features good schools and a high concentration of college educated adults, to help encourage scholarly pursuits. Over 57% of all adults in the town have four-year degrees or more, which is more than twice the national average. There are high rates of homeownership and housing in the community is predominantly traditional single family homes. In recent years the town has experienced a surge in new home construction and population growth. Nolensville is a wealthy community in comparison to both state and federal economic standards. It is a diverse community racially and ethnically and possesses a certain global flare.  English is the primary written and spoken language in the community followed by Spanish and Korean.

The area was settled in approximately 1797 and is named in honor of William Nolen an early settler to the area. It is rumored that William Nolen, his wife, and their children were traveling through the area when their wagon wheel broke. This event forced them to stop and spend some time in the area making the repairs. This gave them time to really look at the area and the local resources. Nolen purchased land and settled his family on it. Soon after, in the early 1800s, many settlers came to the area from North Carolina and a budding community soon grew. The town was incorporated for the first time in 1839. Nolensville as most communities has experienced ups and downs as a thriving agricultural region, struggles during the Civil War, floods fires and more including the loss of its incorporation. But, all was not lost and the town was reincorporated in 1996.

The town spans 9.5 square miles and is a predominantly white collar community. Over 91% of the workforce hold or work white-collar positions. In 2010, the population was 5,861 and the population density was 326.6 people per square mile. And by 2014, the population had risen to 6,423. Meanwhile, in 2015, the estimated median household income was $115,979 and the estimated per capita income was $41,336. In the same year, the estimated median house or condo value was $344,591, the mean price on all housing units was $449,796 and the median gross rent was $2,031. The community remains an affluent one, with the current median household income estimated at approximately $108,859.

Williamson County School District is the primary provider of education to the youth of the town. Local schools include Clovercroft Elementary School, Sunset Middle School, Nolensville High School and others. Residents of the town do face a lengthy commute, on average about 31 minutes for their daily commutes. There are three houses in the town that appear on the National Register of Historic Places, Sherwood-Green House, Jordan-Willams House and George W. Morton House.
